Online Account Benefits

 I wanted to let you know about some of the benefits of creating your online account at ndsra.com and answer some questions that I’ve been asked. 

First and foremost, I think most people are excited to get a digital version of Street Talkin’ in full color.  Issues starting in January 2011 are archived on the site. After you sign up for your online account, you will receive an email when the newest Street Talkin’ is available on the website for download.  The PDF is too large to be emailed directly to members.

 Because we want members to be able to enjoy the benefits of an online account and also receive the printed newsletter if they wish, members must manually opt out of receiving the print version of Street Talkin’. If you’re still receiving the printed version and are wondering why, please check your account settings.  It’s easy to do…I promise!

 After you login, click the “My Account” link on the left-hand side. Then, click the “Edit” button just above your account information. Click the “Name and Address” link.  Select “No” next to “Receive Printed Version”. Remember to click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen.

 While you’re here, you can see that you can also update your own address.  The “Account” link will allow you to change your username and password.  If you ever forget your username and/or password, you can always click the “Request New Password” link underneath the login box on the left-hand side of the site.  You’ll receive an email with a link that will allow you to login and reset your password.

We’ve signed up nearly 200 online accounts and have about 50 members receiving the digital version only.  It’s a good start, but we need to get some more members opt out of print to save the organization some money.

Finally, the 2011 Pick of the Year voting will be conducted online this year.  In order to vote, you must sign up for an online account.  Remember that signing up for an online account does not automatically opt you out of receiving the print version.  You have control over your Street Talkin’ delivery option, so there’s no risk in trying out an online account and its benefits. 

Sign up by emailing your name and NDSRA member number to webmaster@ndsra.com or filling out the Login Request form on the website.
